What is
Digital Fine Art Photography?
(my answer to this burning question)
Our
world is a planet of opposites
seeking harmonic balance (light–dark, sweet-sour, happy-sad). The goal
is not to replace black and white
with gray, or, hot and cold with lukewarm; but for all to exist in harmony.
Digital Fine Art Photography (like the DragonFlies of my mind)
strikes this harmonies balance.
We can
view this world thru the
reality
of our eyes or thru the
fantasy of our imagination.
We can reproduce what we see thru
photographs which are
authentic
reproductions or
paintings which are
conceptual
reproductions.
Everything on earth is
carbon
or silicon
based.
Plants and animals are
carbon
based; while
cameras and computers are
silicon
based.
So what
happens when we mix it up a bit?
carbon based humans
and plants mixed with
silicon
based cameras and computers;
fantasy mixed with
reality;
Authentic
reproductions mixed with
conceptual
reproductions?
We would have a
silicon
based
object of
reality that is an authentic,
conceptual reproduction of a carbon
based entity as viewed thru the eyes of
imagination.
Or, simply put:
